Good Riddance Writers Block!

Chalkboard-Writers-Block

I woke up this morning with the ambition and motivation to write. I haven’t had this feeling in a while so of course I acted on it and I am proud of my productivity today. I had so many ideas swirling around my mind but I needed to put pen to paper. (like I mentioned in my previous post) Well I did just that. I put all of my ideas down on paper and now I have four pages of detailed notes on my novel. It is going to be the project for my dissertation but I want to write the whole novel not just the designated two chapters for my final third year assignment.

The novel is a young adult modern fantasy titled ‘The Pendant’ and I am very very very excited about writing it. I attempted to write a novel last summer but I tend to bore easily and my idea was lacking depth and originality. It was an adult romance that I was trying to write but I believe young adult fiction is the best genre for me. I have also planned a sequel titled ‘Crescent.’ My word aim is 50,000 words and this seems daunting now but I know that I can do it.

I just hope that my laziness is a thing of the past and I have cured my writers block (for now anyway.) I am going to post up small sections of my first draft soon. It might be just a line or two or it might be a paragraph who knows. I am really really excited to write this novel – now I just need every day to be a productive day like this one.
